His legacy left to him by his father
Who died in Vietnam on the day that he was born

I know a woman and her children they were dreamers.
She Lost everything she had back in Katrina
But nothing broke her spirit or her faith
She wrapped her living arms around me
Told me I'd be ok
And one look at her eyes
made me realize
man it’s good just to be alive

To rise above stand together and unite
And pledge allegiance

Because this is not about flags
not about country pride
this is who we are
way deep down inside
And in a moment of truth

see me for who I am
on the inside

To recognize the beauty through the blindness we must look beyond The surface deep inside us (that divide us)
